The Zenbook series has always been my favourite from Asus. One of the laptops that we have seen the company unveil in this series this year is the Zenbook 13 OLED laptop.
As we have always mentioned in all the reviews we have done for Asus laptops, the company has always emerged as one of the leading brands when it comes to innovative technology for laptops. The company makes some pretty good laptops that cater for everyone and the Zenbook 13 OLED is no exception.
The Asus Zenbook 13 OLED laptop offers some premium features like an OLED Display, AMD Ryzen’s performance and much more at just Ksh.140,000. It boasts a compact, thin and ultra-light all-metal design with a thickness of 13.9 mm and weighs 1.14 kg with dimensions of 304.2×203.0×13.9 mm.
Well, it’s quite a small, compact ultrabook that doesn’t take up much desk space. This makes it convenient to carry around, and it fits easily into your bag especially for people like us who are always on the move due to the nature of our work. The compact, thin and ultralight all-metal design of ZenBook 13 OLED makes it the ideal travelling companion that you can take anywhere.
The OLED Display
Asus has been developing OLED devices for some time and I am happy they actually brought it to the ZenBook 13 OLED laptop. The amazing OLED NanoEdge display trenders true-to-life colours at any brightness level, with deep blacks for enhanced realism. It’s a 1920×1080 13.3-inch OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate.
Asu says it’s Pantone Validated for superb colour accuracy and has a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. The ultrafast response time ensures blur-free movies and games, and its low blue-light levels are TÜV Rheinland-certified for better eye care. The four-sided NanoEdge design features slim bezels that create an 88% screen-to-body ratio for a more immersive viewing experience
The OLED display on this laptop is one of the best screens you can get in a 13-inch laptop, a pretty good option especially for creative users who do a lot of editing.
The Design
When it comes to the design the Asus also got everything right just as we have seen with all other laptops in the Zenbook series. The Zenbook 13 OLED looks beautiful and premium.
At the top of the display, there is a rather interesting webcam with an IR sensor to support the Windows Hello function.
Even though it’s thinner, lighter, and incredibly compact, it includes HDMI, Thunderbolt™ 4 USB-C®, USB Type-A and a MicroSD card reader.
We are also getting the new edge-to-edge keyboard design that we have seen in all previous Zenbooks. Asus has efficiently used the entire space which is quite impressive. If you have used an Asus Zenbook laptop before you know how comfortable the keyboard is, you are getting the same experience on the Zenbook 13 OLED.
The is quite large and slightly elongated horizontally and supports Windows 11 gestures.
Specs, Performance and battery life
The Asus ZenBook 13 OLED does not also disappoint when it comes to performance. It is powered by the 11th generation Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD.
The AMD Ryzen chipset should be able to handle multiple tasks at once without any lags. You can play some games and do some professional work without experiencing any lags.
When it comes to battery life, the Zenbook 13 OLED uses a 67Wh 4-cell lithium-polymer battery. Asus says the laptop can last up to 13 hours on a single charge. However, this depends on the activities you run.
