Telkom Kenya Partners With Standard Chartered Bank to Offer Customers More Value for Money

Telkom Kenya has announced a partnership with Standard Chartered Bank, a move aimed at expanding deals included in Telkom’s 30GB mobile data. The new partnership is dubbed Omoka Vinoma.

The telco’s customers will benefit from the new association by accessing more than just the existing additional perks when purchasing the 30-day 30GB data going for KES 1200.

Here’s what you’ll get as part of the new Omoka Vinoma campaign;

  • 100 percent cash back on all transactions for three months when you open a Current Account from Standard Chartered Bank.
  • One-month Showmax Pro Mobile subscription offers access to SuperSport, Dstv’s flagship football channel for streaming live sports events and other entertainment content.
  • Four free Bolt rides each a month(up to KES 260 per ride).
  • 30GB monthly data – 1GB per day for 30 days.

For cashback on transactions, Standard Chartered Bank will refund the incurred transaction charges during the three-month period to July 31, 2021.

“Our partnership with the Standard Chartered Bank, will see us address our customers’ Communication, Financial and Entertainment needs during this period,” Eric Achola, Telkom Kenya Director for Marketing, said in a statement.

Edith Chumba, Head of Consumer, Private, and Business Banking at Standard Chartered Kenya and EA, says their research reveals that most youths “interact with and prefer using digital products and services on a daily.”

“This has further been escalated by the rapid growth of the digital economy since the onset of the pandemic.” Chumba also reveals that youths are looking for ways to cut costs and save money.

“This bundle is our response to the need for quality Internet access and the desire to be financially prudent,” she added.

Kenneth Micah, Bolt East Africa’s Regional Manager, says, “We believe this partnership will set a precedent for brands in different industries to collaborate. The benefits of the collaboration will enrich people and enable them to boost the economy by providing better access to mobility solutions, finance and connectivity.”
