Oppo Reno 5 Series Launched in Kenya

The duo is available for pre-order on Jumia, Masoko and Kilimall

Oppo Kenya has launched two new devices in the country today under the Reno series. The company recently teased on the upcoming Oppo Reno 5 series and officially launched the devices today.

Two models are available under Reno 5 series, Reno5 and Reno5 F. The former is the highlight reel of the new Reno 5 series. There’s a tiny difference between the two. On both, Oppo has included AI-powered imaging features like AI Highlight Video and AI Mixed Portrait to enhance video and image quality.

Let’s unpack each separately.

Oppo Reno 5

Oppo Reno 5 has a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with FHD+ (2400×1080) resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display has a punch-hole cutout that takes care of the 44MP selfie camera. Staying on the camera topic, there’s a 64MP quad-camera setup on the rear. This includes a 64MP main, an 8MP ultrawide, and two 2MP sensors for depth and macro.

Compared to its predecessor, Reno 4, Reno 5 has a higher screen-to-body ratio. It’s powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, paired with an Adreno 618GPU. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor, but the phone has face unlock support for those who prefer that.

The phone will be available in two gradient colors, Fantasy Silver and Starry Black.

Oppo Reno 5 boots from Android 11, with ColorOS 11 on top. It comes in a single memory option; 8GB + 128GB, and there’s a microSD card slot for expansion.

The phone draws power from a 4300mAh battery that can be juiced at mind-blowing 50W charging speeds via USB Type C. According to Oppo, 50W charging support can take the battery from 0% to 80% within 31 minutes to 100% in just 48 minutes.

Oppo Reno 5F

Oppo Reno 5F is a stepdown from the Reno 5. Oppo Reno 5F has a 48MP main camera aided by an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front is a 32MP selfie camera instead of a 44MP lens on its bigger sibling.

The battery is just 4015mAh that tops at 30W fast charging speeds. Reno 5F will be selling in Fluid Black, Fantastic Purple, and Crystal Silver colors. It also has Android 11 with ColorOS 11 UI on top.
