Realme 6 Camera review

Realme 6 Camera review: Realme 6 is one of our favourite mid-range devices we have used this year. The phone was among the devices realme launched when they entered the Kenyan market recently.

Realme 6 comes with some interesting specs including a 6.5-inch full-hd+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a powerful MediaTek Helio G90T processor, some 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable via a Micro-SD Card among other specs.

The realme 6 is actually one of the rare smartphones to come with a 90Hz refresh rate under this segment. No doubt the screen feels much smoother and responsive compared to the 60Hz mode and this makes the realme 6 one of those phones with the smoothest displays in its segment. Of course, we have also seen Infinix and Tecno launching some new devices with this same feature and we spoke about all this in our realme 6 review which you can check here

In this article, we will be looking at the realme 6 camera which was one of the talking points realme put so much emphasis on when it launched this device.

‘’The high-performance classy smartphone is a dream phone for anyone who wants to upgrade their lifestyle and is into latest trends and style as it comes equipped with 64MP Pro Camera and Pro Display. ‘’ the company said.

So here’s the thing, the realme 6  is equipped with a quad-camera setup on the rear. It includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens (with EIS), a monochrome portrait lens, and a 4cm macro lens.

The selfie camera, on the other hand, is 16MP placed in a hole punch at the top left.

Main Camera

The camera app is feature-rich and comes with a number of shooting modes including night, expert HDR, beaut, portrait, among others. There’s also a dedicated 64MP camera mode for taking those high-resolution photos

The realme 6 smartphone also supports 4K videos at 30fps. Check some sample shots below (Click on Images to expand)

The image quality is not bad, pretty what you would expect for a 30k phone. The photos produced by the main sensor are quite decent with the right amount of details, especially in daylight. The camera, however, struggles in low light. Night mode saves the day here by adding some little light to the photos but they still lack details.

Selfie Camera

The selfie camera as we mentioned is 16MP and is placed in a hole punch at the top left. It comes with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.06″ sensor and 1.0µm and just like the main camera it takes some decent pictures without really affecting your skin tone.

You can also record Full HD video at 30 FPS. The selfie camera also has night mode and features like AI beautification, HDR Mode, Portrait mode and Panoselfie wich you can use to take wider selfies.

From the sample shots above, you can tell the realme 6 really manages to take some clear selfies which you can share with your friends or on social media.
