As the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to bite, learning has also been disrupted. The pandemic resulted in schools shut all across the world with over 1.2 billion children now staying out of the classroom.
As a result, education has changed dramatically, with the distinctive rise of e-learning, whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms.
Drawing upon this global best practice around the world, Brookhouse School has announced that it is resuming its academic year through virtual learning.
The school says it seeks to deliver the highest quality in virtual learning ensuring the school’s education program continues into the new academic year with minimal interruption. This is following close consultations with the Kenya Association of International Schools (KAIS).
This virtual learning of its education program for the 2020-2021 academic year commences on 18th August.
The school has also denied reports that it demanding Sh45,000 from parents for their children to be re-enrolled to the school.
‘’Furthermore, please be advised that there will be no increase in fees for the 2020-2021 academic year, and we are extending a flexible payment plan to parents who wish to avail of that facility,’’ it said in a statement.
‘’The school continues to invest in academic resources and works diligently to retain the highest calibre teaching staff ensuring first-class educational delivery. ‘’ the statement further read.
In a letter to parents seen by TechTrendsKE, Brookhouse School says the re-enrolment form is a standard form used around the world by schools as a means of better administrative planning for timetable delivery and how best to arrange classes for the start of a new academic year.
‘’Brookhouse decided to adopt this best practice administrative mechanism at the beginning of 2020, long before the pandemic issue arose. There is no payment related to the re-enrolment form.’’ the letter, dated 8th August read.
