Quoted Replies Bot Creator Offered A Job At Twitter
Twitter’s CEO and Founder Jack Dorsey paid a visit to Nigeria on Thursday 7th. As a CEO and founder of one of the biggest social media platforms, he did not hold back from showing up to the press.
Yesterday, Techpoint Africa hosted Twitter CEO and co-founder, Jack Dorsey together with a team of other Twitter executives. It was a Q and A session with Jack revealing the company’s plans for the continent.
At the meeting, the company’s executives were introduced to Twitter’s bot Quoted replies that help users find all the quoted replies without a hassle.
The founder of @QuotedReplies just got a job offer with Twitter. The announcement was made at the meeting with media and tech entrepreneurs in Lagos.

The bot was built by Dara Oladosu, a Nigerian who showcased the technical details behind the working mechanism of the bot. Dara also revealed that the account had garnered over 40 million impressions in October alone.
Twitter’s Product Lead, Kayvon Beykpour, seemed impressed with the idea and instantly offered Dara a deal to work with Twitter to help build a native “quoted tweet” feature on the platform.
So the bot will obviously die in the future, depending on how fast Twitter brings the native functionality. Quoted Replies creator, Dara, is confident that the native feature will harbor more functionality that the bot cannot achieve as per now.
Dara expressed his excitement on integrating Quoted replies as a native feature on the platform. Although his role at the company is not known as per now.
