Just Googling these Celebrities might get you Hacked

Many people love celeb gossip, and that has also turned out as a sweet spot for hackers to prey on unsuspecting users. As it turns out, searching for some celebrities’ gossip online might land you into trouble. That is, according to McAfee’s 2019 list of the most dangerous celebrities to search for online.

McAfee releases these reports yearly and has been doing so for the past thirteen years. Googling celebrities in this list generates the riskiest search results that could expose you to malicious websites and viruses.

This year’s list is topped by Alexis Bledel, who has been featured as an innocent book worm Rory Gilmore in network television’s “Gilmore Girls.” Factoring in her rise in fame in recent times, Alexis Bledel has become a prime target for malicious search results online.

The Late Late Show’s host James Corden is second on the list, followed by Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner who starred as Sansa Stark on the HBO fantasy television series.

Other celebrities among the top ten include Lupita Nyong’ o, Jackie Chan, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and Anna Kendrick.

Celebrity searches are one of the most popular searches in search engines, thus making cybercriminals to capitalize on the hot keywords to entice users to click on dangerous links.

This also comes with the hot urge for free content via torrents instead of paying for streaming services like Netflix.

A good number of people still rely on torrents torrent or pirated downloads as they are free, but this can make you susceptible to a profusion of cyberthreats.
