Huawei’s Hongmeng OS Under Testing, Plans to Launch with the Mate 30 Series

There’s been a lot of buzz around Huawei and their upcoming OS that is meant to replace Google’s Android. Latest reports do suggest that the company has invited people to try out the new Operating system dubbed HongMeng OS.  According to the invite, the testing was to be done on a new device which rumors suggest is the upcoming Huawei Mate 30.

HongMeng OS has been reported to be faster than both Android and even MacOS which Huawei’s founder Ren Zhengfei confirmed in an interview along last weekend.

Ren also stated that HongMeng would have a variety of applications in different devices including network switches, routers, and servers, smartphones and even desktop PCs and laptops.

Rumour has it that Huawei’s OS will be unveiled together with their upcoming Mat 30 Series flagship later this year in either October or November. The unspecified date might be due to the uncertainty of HongMeng OS. I’m sure Huawei doesn’t want to mess with their new baby OS for a first-time impression.

However, if the OS is shipped with the Mate 30 series, only the Chinese market may be excited as they don’t use Google services. While for the rest of the world, it will be a little bit hard due to the nature of which Android users love Google apps that come along with Android.

Currently, the hurdle that Huawei is facing with their new OS is the lack of an app store, and Ren admitted it will be their biggest problem trying to compete with Android and iPhone.
