The Galaxy Fold wasn’t ready for launch Samsung CEO admits


The Galaxy Fold pioneered the smartphone market with the first foldable display. However, pioneering didn’t mean great success.

With the fate that befallen Samsung’s foldable device, other smartphone makers are making cautious moves with their foldable devices. A good example is Huawei with the Mate X, which was showcased at MWC 2019.

Samsung’s Galaxy Fold device was met with screen breakage, among other issues that lead to the company recalling the devices. Pre-orders have also been cancelled In the past, month as the Fold official launch received an indefinite date.

In an interview Samsung’s CEO, DJ Koh admitted he rushed the release of the Galaxy Fold.

“I pushed it through before it was ready… I do admit I missed something on the foldable phone, but we are in the process of recovery” he stated.

In regards to recovery, the company CEO revealed that there are more than 2000 prototypes undergoing testing already. On the launch date, there is still no official date as per now, but the device will hit the market “in due course.”

Huawei’s Foldable device Mate X is expected to be officially unveiled in September. Maybe we can see the Galaxy Fold back in the market some later time.
