Redington officially unveils the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max in Kenya


Apple unveiled the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max to the world in September this year. The unveiling took take place at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park premises in Cupertino. And now, Redington Kenya Ltd – Telecom Distribution has officially introduced the two iPhones in Kenya.

The new iPhones will retail from Ksh. 140,000 – 220,000. Pre-orders began on 26th October while sales began in retail and online channels on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 12.01am Local Time. Upon buying the phone customers will also get 20GB Safaricom Internet Bundle for the next 2 months.

The iPhone Xs features a 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED display at 2,436 x 1,125 resolution with 2.7 million pixels and 458 pixels per inch. The iPhone Xs Max, on the other hand, features a 6.5-inch Super Retina OLED display at 2,688 x 1,242 resolution with 3.3 million pixels (but still 458 ppi).

Both iPhone Xs models come with a wide variety of improvements including wider stereo sound and better Face ID with faster algorithms and Secure Enclave. Apple also introduced the industry’s first 7nm chip in the form of the A12 Bionic on the two devices.

“The two new iPhone models have a durable glass ever in a smartphone with improved scratch resistance, while the glass back enables faster wireless charging. They reach a new level of splash and water resistance of IP68 for up to 2 meters for 30 minutes and protect against everyday spills including coffee, tea and soda,” said Mr. Sajan Thomas, Regional Business Head East Africa for Redington, during the launch at Trademark Hotel Nairobi.

The iPhones will be available in all Redington dealers and Apple Authorized Resellers that include; Safaricom Outlets, Elite Digital Solutions, Personal Systems, Salute I world, Phonelink, Gametroniqs, Globoedge solutions and Avi communications.
