You will from now onwards enjoy faster delivery time after ordering something on Jumia. The e-commerce site has announced the launch of Jumia Express (Formerly ‘’Jumia First) that will see products on the site with a Jumia Express logo delivered the following for customers in Nairobi, and at least a day faster than normal for customers outside the capital.

“Our customers want us to deliver as fast as possible. We have been working very hard to make this happen, and can now consistently deliver Jumia Express orders next day within Nairobi and up to 1 day faster in the rest of the country. Thousands of products are now available on Jumia Express, with more vendors signing up to the service each week”, said Jumia Managing Director Sam Chappatte.

Sam Chappatte added that given that these products are sitting at the Jumia warehouse, they are guaranteed to have 100% availability can pick and pack these products much faster than those that are sitting with vendors. This Sam adds ensures Jumia Express orders are faster.

Tuskys and Unilever are some of the local suppliers in Kenya whose products are being fulfilled by Jumia Express. The service is made available to Jumia’s vendors at a moderate cost and is being increasingly sought out as it is linked with higher sales and saves warehousing space.

The items from local vendors carrying the Jumia Express badge will include Groceries, fashion, smartphones, TVs as well as home appliances. This is good news for those customers who want their products delivered faster.

The announcement also comes shortly after the online retailer also announced it had made improvements in the process for vendors to join the platform. So far this year, Jumia says it has doubled the number of vendors on the platform and also grown its assortments 10 times to 350,000 products since last year. With Jumia Black Friday almost here, the company says it intends to have more than 450,000 assortments on the platform.
