MEDIA TO TRADE PENS FOR GOLF CLUBS AT THE AIRTEL MEDIA GOLF CHALLENGE IN NAIROBI
Over forty journalists are expected to grace the third leg Airtel Kenya media golf challenge 2015 set for Golf Park Golf Club in Nairobi this Saturday
The tournament is expected to continue to provide a perfect opportunity for journalists across media houses to interact and showcase their hidden sporting talent, which according to Airtel Kenya CEO Adil EL Youssefi, provides the journalists a unique opportunity to showcase their passion for the sport and socialize in a diverse and competitive environment
The competitive field at the event promises excitement pitting
experience against starters as defending champion Azu Ogola of Nation Media Group is expected to battle it out against stiff challenge from K24’s Solomon Kirimi and Radio Africa’s Charles Kerich in the experienced golfers category.
One special addition to watch with a keen eye will be the battle for the overall media house prize where two time defending champions Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) come up against strong teams from the Nation Media Group, Mediamax and The Standard Media Group.
In the ladies category, defending champion, Josephine Gumba from Kenya Institute of Management Magazine will face stiff challenge from Renee Makau and Ruth Rwamba of Royal Media Services and KBC respectively.
The tournament also offers an a first time opportunity for scribes to be taken through the basic rudiments of playing golf courtesy of the widely experienced resident golf pro Jacob Okello. The Pro will take scribes through their very first practical experience at the gentleman’s game showing them how to drive, chip, putt and win.
