Lenovo completes acquisition of Google owned Motorola on a $2.91 billion deal

Lenovo has completed the acquisition of Google owned Motorola on a $2.91 billion deal announced in February this year.
”In Lenovo we have a partner that shares our mission and that brings global scale, a diverse product portfolio and a track record of seizing strategic opportunities and making the most of them” Motorola said on its blog.
Under this deal, Motorola will be be a wholly owned subsidiary of Lenovo and remain headquartered in Chicago’s while maintaining offices around the world, including in Silicon Valley. Thw company will also be adding some 3,500 employees, including 2,800 in the United States.
It said that it will continue to focus on pure Android and fast upgrades, and also remain committed to developing technology to solve real consumer problems.
”With Lenovo backing us, we look forward to being able to reshape the industry for decades to come” Motorola stated.
