2018 Connected Kenya Summit awards officially unveiled
ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has today officially unveiled the 2018 Connected Kenya Summit Innovation Awards.The awards will this time round be held in Nairobi at the Bomas of Kenya from 22nd to 24th October. All previous awards have always been held in Diani, at the Coast.
The annual Connected Kenya Summit is a platform that brings ICT thought leaders and under one roof to engage on emerging trends and innovations in the country’s ICT space. This year, the summit will be celebrating its 10th anniversary with over 1000 delegates, local and international, expected to attend.
ICT Authority says this year’s edition will be the greatest meeting of ICT minds ever in the East African region who will take part in three days of intensive engagements on ICT support for the Big four agenda, recently outlined by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“Our focus for Connected 2018 is the Big 4 Agenda. Technology has a significant role to play in the Big 4 and I look forward to seeing how we can innovate across manufacturing, healthcare, housing and food security” ICT CS Joe Mucheru said during the launch event which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi.
In addition, 2018 Connected Kenya Summit ‘s thematic tracks will include Manufacturing, food security, Universal healthcare and affordable housing. There will also be conversations around emerging technologies such as Blockchain, Internet of Things, big data and Artificial Intelligence, among others.
The awards celebrate Kenyan entrepreneurs that have created new ICT solutions. Over 45 ICT products and services have been awarded since the inaugural awards which were held at the Connected Kenya Summit in 2011.
Telkom Kenya is the title sponsors for this year’s Connected Summit whose theme is ‘Building for Prosperity’.
