Telkom revamps its Mzito Bundle, Scraps 30 Day Validity Period

Telkom Kenya has made the headlines in recent weeks, launching offers, reviewing its data packages, and even slashed T-Kash transfer fees to become more competitive.

The latest news maintains a similar theme. The telco has revamped its Telkom Mzito Bundle, which normally offer customers data, and minutes across networks.

The most notable changes include scrapping 30 day validity periods for Mzito 500 and 1000 priced at Ksh 500 and Ksh 1000. The two have no expiry moving forward.

Mzito 500 will continue to offer 3GB data bundles, but minutes have been slashed by half to 50. Mzito 1000 now includes 10GB from the previous 8GB, although minutes have been halved as well.

Mzito 2000, which costs Ksh 2000, now includes 25GB from 17GB, but minutes have been slashed by about 30 per cent – from 600 to 200.

You can subscribe to the updated Telkom Mzito bundle by dialling *544*1# and selecting Combo bundles. Alternatively, you can purchase the bundles via the My Telkom App and My Account portal. T-Kash users can also access the New Mzito bundles under the Data Bundles menu option via *160#.

The Mzito 2000 continues to have a 30-day validity period, however. Telkom says the move to increase data allocation is inspired by a marked increase in Mobile Data consumption, largely by millennials.

“The new combo bundle is built with the evolving data and experience needs of our customers in mind. While they continue to demand affordability, they are also keen on holistic and comprehensive offerings that address their dynamic needs: browsing, downloading, streaming and updating their apps, actions that are now integral in everyday life,” says Eric Achola, Telkom’s Director for Marketing.
