Tecno Camon 15 and 15 Pro Announced, Introducing New Design Trends From Tecno

Tecno has been quiet for some time now – we haven’t seen any new smartphone launch from them in 2020. In the Indian market, the company has announced two new devices: Tecno Camon 15 and Tecno Camon 15 Pro.

The two still follow the company’s mission that targets the lower end of the market, budget-oriented you could say. The two devices adopt popular design trends on the market, like the punch-hole selfie (seen in last year’s Camon 12 Air) and the pop-up selfie designs bringing them to a lower end on the market.

To compete with the proliferation of Xiaomi in India, it does take some serious effort, and that’s what the company has done with the new Camon devices.

Both phones pack four cameras on the rear with a 48MP lens leading the pack and run on Android 10 splashed on top with HiOS 6.01. The Camon 15 Pro has a pop-up selfie camera, while its smaller sibling has a hole punch on the display which houses the selfie camera.

It comes with MediaTek’s Helio P35 Chipset under the hood working in tow with 6GB of memory. The display measures 6.53-inches and has FHD+ resolution. Other notable features include 128GB of ROM, a 4000mAh battery, and a 32MP selfie camera that pops-up when you need to snap a selfie.

The Camon 15 has a narrowly larger screen than the Pro version measuring 6.55-inches. Here the selfie camera is composed of a 16MP lens, and the battery is pushed a notch higher with 5,000mAh capacity. The memory is 4GB, and internal storage has also been trimmed to 64GB, but you can still expand to 256GB if your needs are not met with that.

Tecno Camon 15 will be available in three different paint jobs, including Shoal Gold, Fascinating Purple and Jade. The Pro version comes in Ice Jadeite and Opal White colors.

In India, Tecno Camon 15 is priced at an equivalent of about $140(~ Ksh 14,200) and about $210(~Ksh 22,000) for Camon 15 Pro.
