Sendy fulfillment service crosses 1,000 online sellers

Launched in November last year, Sendy fulfillment service is a digital-enabled platform that relieves online sellers of logistics difficulties while also insulating them from the high operational costs that come with logistics.

A state-of-the-art Fulfillment Center with multiple picking locations across Nairobi, the service serves as the operation’s nerve centre. And now Sendy fulfillment service has crossed 1,000 online sellers with over 7k unique product.

‘’Last week, we crossed 1,000 online sellers with over 7k unique products on our Fulfilment service that we launched 3 months ago. These businesses sell on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram’’ said Mesh Alloy, Sendy CEO in a LinkedIn post.

‘’The amount of commerce happening on Whatsapp is huge, and It’s growing triple digits YoY. We are bundling Delivery + Fulfilment Centres + Payments into one layer to accelerate this commerce category.’’ he added.

The Fulfillment solution is aimed at e-commerce and direct-to-consumer businesses that do not have storage or delivery systems, and it will pick, pack, and ship orders to customers for a fee of 13% of the product’s selling price. The price also includes picking up the shipment from the vendor’s location, three shipping attempts, 60 days of storage, and inventory tracking. Businesses using the solution will be able to access quick and flexible financing to buy additional inventory and manage their cash flow.

Vendors simply register on the Sendy Fulfillment platform, upload their inventory, and send items to a Fulfillment center near them. When a consumer places an order with a vendor, Sendy ships it on the vendor’s behalf from the Fulfillment center closest to them.

A normal delivery within Nairobi costs between Sh.300 and 1000 per shipment measured per mile. Sendy Fulfillment provides low and mid-priced items with affordable delivery pricing and tracking services, allowing businesses and customers to follow the exact position of their orders while they are in transit. The customer can also choose a delivery time and location that is convenient for them.

Businesses can sign up for Sendy fulfillment service by completing this form.
