OPPO launches the OPPO F5 in Kenya for Ksh.31,990.


We have previously told you that OPPO Mobile was planning to launch the OPPO F5 in Kenya, well, they finally did. The company has launched the device, which is the successor of the OPPO F3 at an event held at Radisson Blue hotel, Nairobi for Ksh.31,990.

The OPPO F5 is the company’s first Full HD+ (2160×1080) with a Full-Screen display to be unveiled in Kenya, featuring the groundbreaking A.I. Beauty Recognition Technology. The technology, according to OPPO has been designed to personalize beautification for subjects according to the facial feature and the surrounding environment.This makes OPPO F5 the first smartphone to bring Artificial Intelligence into selfie feature in Kenya.

“Our focus has always been on bringing the best photography and Selfie experience to the Kenyan consumers. We have been leading the Selfie with our Selfie Expert F series for which we have received immense response, especially from the youth.’’ OPPO Kenya Brand Manager, Mr. Jesse Wu said. ‘’’With the launch of F5 that offers the first A.I. Beauty Recognition Technology, we are confident of going further ahead in this journey,’’ he added.

The F5 will officially go on sale from November 28th and will be available both online and offline.

So what features does the OPPO F5 come with? Well, we have told you about the features in our previous article, in case you missed it you can read it here. But consumers will basically get a 6-inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels with an aspect ratio of 18:9. The phone is powered by a 2.2GHz Octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The storage is expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The device is also backed by a 3,200mAh battery and runs OPPO’s ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

At the launch event, OPPO also launched the F5 6GB edition and the F5 Youth in what it says is to give OPPO fans and the youth more choices to suit their needs and budget.The company did not specify when exactly these two variants will be available in the country.

As we mentioned, the OPPO F5 will start going on sale on 28th November but consumers can still pre-order it starting from 20th to 27th Novem
