OpenAI is introducing a $20 monthly subscription of its now famous ChatGPT chatbot
There possibly hasn’t been a greater debate in the content production market than one revolving around ChatGPT, the content writing software created by San Francisco-based startup OpenAI.
Since the chatbot was introduced late last year, there has been restlessness as users around the globe try to evaluate to what lengths this tool can mimic human voice in content production. So far, ChatGPT has proven to be a game changer, for its ability to perform a myriad of tasks. From website content, marketing copy, and songwriting to class essays, the AI application has proven its worth. Microsoft announced that its pumping $10 billion into the project.
OPenAI is now introducing ChatGPT Plus, a $20 monthly subscription version of the product. The company says that this opens more features. For instance, subscribers will also get round-the-clock access to the chatbot, faster responses, and access to new features. The subscription version will initially be available to a small number of people already on the waiting list, the company said.
ChatGPT Plus will be available only to users in the United States. People on the waiting list will be invited to join in the coming weeks, the company said. OpenAI hopes that the paid subscription service will support the free version, which company CEO Sam Altman said costs “single-digit cents” for each chat served.
A lot of input has gone into making chatbots such as ChatGPT over the last decade. Whereas this approach is certainly the future, the technology will need to be perfect to enable it to filter fact from fiction since it only uses data already available online.
