LG 2020 NanoCell TV Lineup Debuts, Counting on AI Technology for Better Viewing Experience
In case you missed it, LG has a new NanoCell TV lineup for 2020. LG’s 2020 NanoCell TV lineup promises better picture quality and a better viewing experience thanks to the balance between display technology, and under the hood picture and sound processing. The TVs rely on LG’s legendary advanced ThinQ AI for both AI-based picture quality and audio processing.
The LG 2020 NanoCell TV lineup comes in variant models with a minimum display resolution of 4K UHD and 8K UHD at the top of the line. Display sizes range from 55-inches all the way to the massive 86-inch class Nano90 4K UHD model which was a CES 2020 Innovation Award winner.
Under the hood of the 8K NanoCell 2020 TVs is the latest Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI Processor 8K, which also powers LG’s flagship 2020 OLED TVs. The 4K UHD models use Alpha 7 Gen 3 Intelligent Processor except for the Nano80 series. On all models, however, LG uses its ThinQ AI engine to better the viewing experience. There’s also 4K AI upscaling which steps up HD content to 4K.
The AI technology tucked inside automatically detects content type so you don’t have to manually do it – an added convenience. The first phase is detection, then followed by optimization of the two critical aspects of better viewing experience: Sound and picture.
LG’s AI technology also detects the ambient environment and tries to deliver an optimized picture and balanced sound that best suits the particular scenario. Besides, LG’s ThinQ AI platform includes Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in for controlling your TV (Intelligent Voice recognition, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa is not yet available in this region though) and browsing through installed apps, hands-free, although this is only available on 8K models.
It also supports AirPlay2 and Apple’s HomeKit – which means you can turn your iPhone into a TV remote and also to control other smart home devices.
LG NanoCell TV lineup runs on webOS, the company’s Linux based smart TV operating system which ships with popular content streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube pre-installed. WebOS is also built-in with Miracast support for screen mirroring and content casting on both Android and IOS mobile devices.
