Jumia deliveries within Nairobi will now cost you Ksh.100

Jumia Kenya has announced that it has reduced the delivery fee for products within Nairobi from Ksh.250 down to Ksh.100. The move, according to the company is aimed at making it more cost-effective for customers to buy Frequently Manufactured Consumer Goods (FMCG’S) from the platform while at the same time enhancing customer satisfaction.

“We hope by reducing the delivery fee to Kes 100, our customers can now buy their everyday essentials and other small items without extra strain on their budget whilst saving more with Jumia,” said Jumia MD Sam Chappatte.

In Q1, Jumia says FMCG attracted the highest rate of repeat customers at 85% in the just as more people continue to embrace online shopping for their day-to-day home supplies. The Fashion category for both men and women followed closely at 78%. The Baby and Kids category showed the highest improvement on repeat customers with Diapers as the most bought item on the platform.

Jumia hopes the reduction in the delivery fee will make these numbers increase as the company continues to improve its operations.

In September last year, the e-commerce site unveiled Jumia Express (Formerly ‘’Jumia First) that allows next day delivery for products on the site with a Jumia Express logo for customers in Nairobi and at least a day faster than normal for customers outside the capital. Jumia says this launch has seen immense uptake on returning customers on their website. n
