IEC Telecom Group expands to Turkey

IEC Telecom Group has expanded its operations to Turkey.  The Turkey headquarters are established in Istanbul, and will have the same core activities as all other subsidiaries.

The telecom, which has a strong presence in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia says it found it necessary to fill the gap in between in order to get closer to its customers in the region and support them with its well-known proximity service.

Its main targets in the country will be both land and maritime markets. Its offer for L-Band mobile services is based on the Group’s comprehensive portfolio; Thuraya, Iridium and Inmarsat of which the Group is a Distribution Partner. The company’s offer for Vsat mobile & fixed services is based on Inmarsat GX and FX, the Group being Global Xpress VAR. Yahsat KA and Eutelsat KA are equally part of the portfolio. Evidently, IEC Telecom Turkey will provide the Group’s satcom solutions and applications that have been either developed in-house or by the Group’s specialized companies Quicklink for medias and Traksat for geolocation.

‘’The launch of IEC Telecom Turkey is the result of the group’s asserted strategy to establish in key markets. We are delighted to have completed this long matured project to establish in Istanbul, where we will offer the group’s now comprehensive satcom products and services portfolio supported by a proximity service”. Yves Emilian, chairman of the Group said.

Turkey is one of the strongest and fastest developing economy in the world. The country is ideally located at the heart of an area encompassing the East Mediterranean and the black sea regions. Its economy is based on an 83 million population and on highly diversified and sophisticated industries. The Turkish economy has also been one of the most dynamic in the world for the past few years and fundamentals for continuing growth are strong.
