HMD Global unveils the legendary Nokia 8110 and four other Android devices.
Lots of interesting things are coming out of the 2018 Mobile World Conference in Barcelona and HMD Global has not been left behind. The Finnish brand has added four new additions to its portfolio of Android smartphones by launching the Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, new Nokia 6 and Nokia 1 at The company has also brought back a revamped version of the popular phone — Nokia 8110.
The iconic Nokia 8110 comes preloaded with popular apps including Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Search, Facebook and Twitter, and the return of the slider phone it also delivers 4G connectivity.
Speaking during the launch, the company’s Chief Executive Florian Seiche said HMD has sold around 70 million phones after introducing 11 new phone models over the past year. Within this one year HMD global has been able to bring the Nokia brand back to top ranking in the market and hopefully this growth is going to grow, especially with the launch of this new devices.
The new Nokia smartphones join the Android One family offering a high quality software experience designed by Google.

Lets look at the Nokia devices unveiled by HMD
Nokia 8 Sirocco
HMD Global is describing the Nokia 8 Sirocco as an ultra-compact powerhouse for Nokia fans. The Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1440 pixels by 2560 pixels. It is powered by 1.9GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and it comes with 6GB of RAM. The phone packs 128GB of internal storage that cannot be expanded, again would you really need more storage space with 128GB at your disposal? .As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 8 Sirocco packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
Nokia 7 Plus
HMD Global says the 6-inch 18:9 display Nokia 7 Plus has been made for ‘’Creators’’. The Android One smartphone sports a dual rear camera setup just like what we saw on the original Nokia 7. The phone is also the first from the company to bear the longer, more immersive display aspect ratio. The smartphone sits above the Nokia 7 in the HMD Global Nokia Android smartphone lineup, and below the Nokia 8.
The Nokia 7 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo, and being an Android One smartphone, don’t expect any customization on top of the stock Android it uses. HMD Global has also promised regular updates. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC complete with 4GB of RAM and has 64GB of inbuilt storage, expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.
Nokia 6 (2018)
Measuring 148.80 x 75.80 x 8.60 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 172.00 grams, the Nokia 6 (2018) packs more powerful features than its predecessor. It is powered by 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM. The 32GB of internal storage can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As for the camera, the Nokia 6 (2018) packs a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 8-megapixel front shooter for selfies.
The Nokia 6 (2018) runs Android 8.0 and is powered by a 3000mAh non removable battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, 3G and 4G.
Available in three slick colour blends: Black/Copper, White/Iron and Blue/Gold, as well as two configurations of 3GB RAM/32GB ROM, which will be available in early April, or 4GB RAM/64GB ROM coming later, the New Nokia 6 will go on sale in early April.
The Nokia 1
HMD says the Nokia 1 was built to give users a complete Nokia smartphone experience accessible to everyone. The phone comes with a 4.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 854 pixels.
The device which measures 133.60 x 67.78 x 9.50 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 131.00 grams is powered by 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737M processor and it comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 1 packs a 5-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 2-megapixel camera for selfies.
The dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM runs Android 8.1 and is powered by a 2150mAh removable battery.
Nokia 8110 4G
HMD Global also decided to go nostalgic by unveiling the 4G version of the legendary Nokia 8110 complete with the iconic curved slider design.
With a familiar and easy to use interface, the Nokia 8110 4G comes with a 2.45-inch display with a resolution of 240 pixels by 320 pixels. It is powered by 1.1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 processor to keep it running flawlessly and it comes with 512MB of RAM. The phone packs 4GB of internal storage which unfortunately cannot be expanded. For the camera, the Nokia 8110 4G packs a 2-megapixel primary camera on the rear, no selfie camera for selfie lovers.
The device is powered by a 1500mAh removable battery and measures 133.45 x 49.30 x 14.90 (height x width x thickness) and weighs just 117.00 grams.
The Nokia 8110 4G is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) mobile accepting Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, 3G and 4G.
With access to an app store, for favourites like Google Assistant, Google Search, Google Maps, Facebook and Twitter, send and receive emails or import your contacts and sync your calendar with Outlook and Gmail.. And yes, it comes with a revamped version of Snake.
