Tecno 5.93mm Spark Slim Launches in Kenya

TECNO has officially launched the TECNO SPARK Slim in the Kenyan market, a device it claims is the world’s thinnest curved-screen smartphone at just 5.93mm.

The launch follows TECNO’s recent accolades at IFA 2025, where the brand was recognized for its innovative approach to smartphone design. The SPARK Slim aims to merge this ultra-thin profile with durability and long battery life, challenging the typical trade-offs seen in the mid-range market.

The new smartphone is available immediately and will retail for Ksh 27,999 (exclusive of VAT). After applying Kenya’s 16% VAT, the inclusive price for consumers is approximately Ksh 32,499. The device is available at TECNO brand stores and major e-commerce platforms.

The SPARK Slim’s primary selling point is its 5.93mm chassis, which houses a surprisingly large 5160mAh high-density battery. TECNO states this was achieved using a “honeycomb space stacking technique” that optimized the layout of internal components.

Despite its thinness, the device supports 45W fast charging and 10W reverse charging. It also includes a bypass charging feature, which powers the motherboard directly during intense gaming sessions to prevent overheating and battery degradation.

To manage heat, the phone incorporates a 24,532mm² cooling system with an ultra-thin vapor chamber.

Performance and Durability

The SPARK Slim is powered by the new MediaTek Helio G200 chipset, which TECNO claims is optimized for performance and efficiency, offering a “TÜV-certified fluency for up to five years.”

The device’s build materials are a key focus. The back cover is made from aerospace-grade fiberglass, which is reportedly 300% stronger than traditional materials while being thinner. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and the entire device is IP64-rated for dust and water resistance. It has also reportedly passed military-grade durability tests.

Display and Features

The phone features a 1.5K high-resolution curved display with a 144Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. It also boasts a peak brightness of 4500 nits, designed to make it easily viewable even in bright outdoor sunlight.

Keeping with the SPARK series’ youth-oriented branding, the device features an interactive “Mood Light” design on the back, using two circular “eyes” that create light animations for calls, notifications, and charging.

Other notable features include:

  • Audio: Dolby dual stereo speakers.
  • AI: Integrated TECNO AI for real-time translation and document summaries.
  • Connectivity: “FreeLink” technology, which enables two-way Bluetooth-based messaging without a cellular signal.
  • File Sharing: Touch Transfer, allowing users to share files by tapping two TECNO devices together.

The TECNO SPARK Slim is available in two classic colors: Slim White and Cool Black.
