Power Learn Project Picks 1000 Students For Its 1 Million Developer Program

In the course of about 16 weeks,1000 trainees will graduate from the Power Learn Project flagship program dubbed “One Million Developers for Africa.”

Power Learn Project is a Nairobi-based organization whose work includes making an impact by empowering young people with tech skills. The One Million Developers program is focused on equipping African youths with accessible world-class education that sets them apart.

Mumbi Ndungu, Chief, Growth and Operations Manager, Power Learn Project said, “We are very proud to bring on this incredible first cohort of learners into our 1 million developers for Africa Program.”

With the fast-paced nature of modern technology, training is key to a sustainable future. In Africa, several local and foreign companies have carved training programs to help accelerate the growth of the digital economy.

“Technology provides learners with easy-to-access information, accelerated learning, and fun opportunities to practice what they learn. It enables learners to explore new technologies and deepen their understanding of difficult concepts, particularly in tech.”

The cohort of 1000 youths was selected through a rigorous vetting process that included panel sessions.

“When you educate one person you can change a life, when you educate many you can change the world. Through the use of technology inside and outside the learning environment, students can gain 21st-century technical skills necessary for future occupations.” Ndungu said.

The learners will have access to a wide network of mentors, access to specialized support from trainees and opportunities such as internships.
