“Tecno Wallet will be available for download on selected existing device series and will come pre-installed on new Tecno smartphones, including the upcoming CAMON 19 series set to be unveiled in June 2022,” the company said in a statement.
The fintech space in Africa is expanding exponentially and companies such as Tecno want to take advantage of its development.
On the Tecno Wallet, users will be able to pay for data, buy airtime and pay bills and other financial services.’
“Consumers can use the wallet to handle their everyday transactions such as paying for airtime and groceries at the tap of a button, as well as access innovative financial services, all on one super-app.” Tecno expounded about the product.
The Tecno wallet will also provide mobile credit that will be interest-free for up to 16 days. Tecno says it’s partnering with licensed financial institutions to make this happen. Tecno has however not revealed the financial institutions it’s partnering with.
