Safaricom users have yet another thing to smile about because they can now use their Bonga Points to pay for Jambojet’s air tickets.
Through a partnership between the telco and the regional carrier, Jambojet customers will now be able to pay for flights using their earned Bonga Points. Jambojet customers will pay using Bonga points to a total of six local destinations: Nairobi, Mombasa, Diani, Malindi, Kisumu, and Eldoret.
It’s part of Jambojet’s plan to enable its customers to fly, recognizing the economic hardships due to COVID-19.
“We are aware of the financial impact COVID-19 has had on many families. There are those who may want to travel but are cash –strapped. We want to provide options to the customers and tell them that they can still travel by redeeming Bonga Points,” said Titus Oboogi, Head of Sales & Marketing, Jambojet.
How To pay for Jambojet tickets using Bonga points
- Dial *126# and select option 1 ‘Lipa Na Bonga Points’
- Then Select ‘Pay bill.’
- Enter Jambojet’s Pay Bill number 737700
- Enter the account number (Reference Number issued during booking)
- Enter the amount you want to pay using Bonga Points
You will then receive a response specifying the number of points needed to pay for the ticket.
If your points are not enough to pay for the ticket, a text message will be sent to inform the remaining balance.
The latest partnership with Jambojet puts Safaricom’s Bonga Points at a strong position as a means of paying for bills. Recently Safaricom partnered with Kenya Power to enable customers to offset bills – and purchase power tokens – using Bonga Points.
