Infinix S5 is almost launching in the country, according to their local offices. The phone was launched in some markets last month, but this month, Kenyans will also have a chance to buy the device. The phone comes in two variants – Infinix S5 and Infinix S5 Lite.
The new S5 will take over the S4 announced earlier this year in the country. It features a 6.6-inch Infinity-O display, Quad Camera, 32 MP In-Display Camera, and a Quetzal bird inspired Design.
The exterior looks amazing, with that punch-hole selfie on the top left corner of the display, slim bezels on the sides, and a reduced chin. Thanks to the thin bezels, the phone comes with a 90.5% screen to body ratio. The phone upgrades from the 19:9 aspect ratio in the S4 to now a 20:9 ratio.
The display is also the largest of the S-series yet aimed at delivering a better experience while watching and playing games. At the back, the phone sports a quad-camera setup placed in a vertical array consisting of a 13MP primary camera, a 5MP lens that will take care of snapping wide pictures, and also capturing macro detail shots, a 2MP depth sensor, and a QVGA AI lens.
For selfies, a 32MP in-display camera will take care of that. Infinix says the selfie camera lens includes four exclusive modes – Slim face, Enlarge eyes, Color tone adjustment, and Smooth skin. Other specifications include 4G LTE support, Android 9.0 Pie, Helio P22 SoC, 4,000mAh battery, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The S5 and S5 Lite will come in three paint jobs – Quetzal cyan, Nebula black, and nebula violet.
Launch and Availability
The device will be launched in Kenya on 29th Nov at the University of Nairobi during the Beat Ya Campo 3rd edition, a singing talent show initiated by the brand earlier in June this year.
The phone is available in different models. Infinix S5 lite will be available in two models; 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. Infinix S5 will be available in the following memory variants; 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB.
Price
Infinix S5 Lite lower variant(3GB/32GB) will be selling at Ksh 13,499 while the higher variant(4GB/64GB) is priced at Ksh Ksh 13,899. Infinix S5 starts a bit higher at Ksh 16,499 for the 4GB/64GB model and Ksh 20,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant.
Infinix is already selling the 4GB/64GB S5 model at Ksh 16,499 plus a free Infinix XBO4 smart band in their official online store.
