Infinix Launches NOTE 60 Pro in Kenya With a Display on the Back Panel

Infinix has officially launched the NOTE 60 Pro in Kenya, introducing what the brand describes as a new category of expressive smartphone,  one defined as much by what it does on the outside as what it runs on the inside.

Retailing at KES 41,999 for an 8GB + 256GB configuration, the NOTE 60 Pro is available now in Solar Orange, Deep Ocean Blue, and Frost Silver, with a pre-order campaign that ran through March 23rd, 2026 offering early buyers a bundle of incentives including a free XWATCH 3GT, a KES 1,000 discount, and three months of Spotify Premium.

Infinix NOTE 60 Pro key feature

The NOTE 60 Pro’s headline innovation is the Active-Matrix Display, an interactive LED interface built directly into the rear panel of the device. Invisible when idle, it activates to show smart notifications, animated pets, custom signatures, emojis, mini-games, and dynamic light patterns, effectively turning the back of the phone into a personalised digital canvas.

It is a departure from anything currently available in the segment, and Infinix is leaning into that distinctiveness. The company frames the feature under a philosophy it calls Joy Tech, a design approach centred on making technology emotionally engaging, accessible, and fun. In a market where most launches are defined by incremental spec bumps, the Active Matrix is a genuine statement of intent.

The novelty of the back panel aside, the NOTE 60 Pro arrives with hardware credentials that are difficult to dismiss at its price point.

It is the first Infinix device to run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, paired with an upgraded vapour chamber cooling system for sustained performance under load. The front display is a 1.5K Ultra HDR panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness — numbers that sit well above the mid-range average and make a strong case for outdoor usability in Kenya’s sunny conditions.

Audio is handled by a JBL-tuned stereo speaker system, while the 6,000mAh battery supports both 90W wired and 30W wireless charging, the latter a notably rare inclusion at this price tier. The device is finished in a one-piece aluminium alloy frame with micro-matte texture, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i screen protection, and an IP64 dust and splash resistance rating.

Infinix NOTE 60 Pro is Built for Creators

Alongside Joy Tech, Infinix has introduced a second pillar called Create Pro,  a positioning that places the NOTE 60 Pro squarely in the hands of Kenya’s growing creator economy. The device supports 4K video recording and is engineered for on-the-go editing, multitasking, and content production.

To anchor the launch locally, Infinix has partnered with four prominent Kenyan creatives: musician Collo Blue, actress and digital creator Catherine Kamau (Kate Actress), lifestyle creator Foi Wambui, and photographer Mutua Matheka (@truthslinger). Each brings a distinct creative discipline to the campaign, collectively making the case that the NOTE 60 Pro is a professional tool as much as a consumer device.

The NOTE 60 Pro lands at a competitive moment in Kenya’s smartphone market, where consumer expectations in the mid-range have risen sharply. Brands can no longer rely on a single standout feature,  buyers at this price point are increasingly demanding premium build quality, strong performance, capable cameras, and long battery life as baseline requirements.

Infinix’s answer is a device that meets those baselines and adds something no competitor currently offers: a phone that expresses personality from every angle. Whether the Active-Matrix Display proves to be a lasting differentiator or a first-generation experiment will depend significantly on Infinix’s software roadmap. But as a launch statement, it is bold, specific, and hard to ignore.

The NOTE 60 Pro is available at Infinix retail outlets and authorised dealers nationwide.
