AVEVA Appoints Khaled Salah as VP for Africa in Regional Growth Push

Industrial software company AVEVA has appointed Khaled Salah as Vice President of Africa, tasking him with accelerating the company’s growth across a continent it describes as a strategic priority market.

Salah, 37, will oversee a team of approximately 30 employees spread across 12 African countries, including Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa. He reports directly to Jesus Hernandez, Senior Vice President of the EMEA region, and takes on the Africa role in addition to his existing position leading the AVEVA and Schneider Electric global strategic partnership.

Hernandez framed the appointment as a reflection of the continent’s growing importance to the business. “Africa is a strategic region for AVEVA,” he said. “Customers, world leaders in energy, metals and mining, chemicals, and water, are looking for AVEVA’s expertise to accelerate their digital transformation and sustainability strategies, as well as their energy transition projects.”

Salah brings more than 15 years of industrial and commercial experience to the role. He began his career at Schneider Electric in 2013, working across global supply chain, European procurement strategy, and global commercial strategy for the industrial automation business before joining AVEVA in 2022. At AVEVA, he has led the introduction of new software solutions across Schneider Electric’s verticals, managing a cross-functional team while driving growth in the partnership.

He holds an MBA from Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom and a master’s degree in engineering from Ain Shams University in Egypt.

Salah said his immediate focus will be on unlocking the potential of his regional team. “Helping my team realise their professional potential is close to my heart,” he said. “We will work together to support and accelerate the digital transformation of industries in Africa, in particular through CONNECT, our industrial intelligence platform, with the support of our ecosystem of partners.”

AVEVA’s CONNECT platform serves as its industrial intelligence hub, enabling companies in asset-intensive sectors to integrate data, optimise operations, and progress their sustainability and energy transition goals.

The appointment comes as industrial operators across Africa increasingly look to digital tools to improve efficiency and reduce emissions, trends Salah is expected to anchor AVEVA’s Africa strategy around in the years ahead.
