Samsung Electronics has once again pushed the boundaries of display technology at CES 2026, unveiling its most ambitious television to date: the 130-inch Micro RGB TV. Identified as model R95H, the massive display serves as the centerpiece of Samsung’s “Companion to AI Living” vision, blending monumental scale with a design philosophy that treats technology as high art.
The R95H is more than just a large screen; it represents a new architectural direction for premium home entertainment. Moving away from the traditional “black box” aesthetic, Samsung has introduced the “Timeless Frame,” a modern evolution of its 2013 Timeless Gallery design. The ultra-large screen is housed within a refined, architectural frame that makes the display appear to float, transforming it into an immersive “window” rather than a piece of hardware.
This design is complemented by integrated audio hidden within the frame, which is meticulously tuned to ensure that sound feels spatially aligned with the sheer scale of the 130-inch visuals.
At the heart of the R95H is Samsung’s breakthrough Micro RGB technology. While it shares a name with the self-emissive MicroLED, Micro RGB is a distinct advancement in backlighting technology. It utilizes micrometer-scale red, green, and blue LEDs that act as a high-precision light source behind an LCD panel. This allows the TV to achieve a level of color reproduction previously reserved for professional cinematic monitors. Samsung claims the R95H is the first in the industry to achieve 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color gamut, a feat certified by the Verband der Elektrotechnik (VDE).
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized during the launch that Micro RGB represents the peak of the company’s picture quality innovation. He noted that the 130-inch model is engineered for a new generation of users who view their living spaces as curated environments. To maintain visual fidelity in sunlit rooms, the display also features proprietary Glare Free technology, which has received UL certification for its ability to minimize reflections without compromising contrast or color depth.
The hardware is driven by the Micro RGB AI Engine Pro, a suite of processors that uses 128 neural networks to optimize contrast, refine dull tones, and upscale content with “hyper-real” clarity. This intelligence extends to the user experience via the new Vision AI Companion (VAC). More than a simple voice assistant, the VAC acts as an active participant in the home. During the CES demonstration, Samsung showed how a viewer could ask for the recipe of a dish appearing on screen, which the VAC then instantly transmitted to a connected Bespoke refrigerator and the “Movingstyle” mobile display in the kitchen.
While Samsung has not yet confirmed the final retail price for the 130-inch R95H, industry analysts expect it to carry a significant premium, following the $30,000 price point established by the company’s 115-inch predecessor. The TV also signals a broader shift for Samsung in 2026, as it begins integrating HDR10+ ADVANCED and Eclipsa Audio spatial sound across its flagship lineup.
As the show floor at Las Vegas continues to buzz with AI-centric announcements, Samsung’s 130-inch “architectural window” stands as a clear signal that the future of the living room is as much about design and intelligence as it is about size.
