TechTrends Media to Host High-Level AI Business Forum in Nairobi This Week

TechTrends Media has announced the TechTrends AI Breakfast Forum, a half-day business gathering focused on real-world applications of artificial intelligence in enterprise operations. The event will take place on Thursday, 2 October 2025, at Hyatt Place, Nairobi, bringing together corporate executives, technology leaders, and policy voices navigating AI adoption across sectors.

The forum will open with a keynote address from Annepeace Alwala, Vice President for Global Service Delivery at Sama, on “AI-Powered Transformation: Unlocking Africa’s Next Growth Frontier.” Alwala oversees over 3,000 employees across Kenya and Uganda delivering AI data operations for global technology firms, and is expected to speak on the human infrastructure powering AI systems at scale.

Enterprise Applications Take Centre Stage

Following the keynote, two back-to-back partner presentations will unpack how AI is being implemented inside organizations:

Ryan Mule, Product Manager at Samsung Electronics East Africa, will present “Transforming Business and Personal Productivity with AI,” exploring how smartphones, tablets, and mobile device management tools are becoming enterprise decision systems.

Alfred Ongere, CEO of AI Kenya, will deliver “Upskilling Businesses and Professionals in the Era of Generative AI,” focusing on workforce enablement amid automation shifts.

A live recording of The TechTrends Podcast will follow, moderated by TechTrends Media founder Nixon Kanali, featuring Alwala, Mule, and Ongere in a panel debate titled “AI for Enterprise: Scaling Business Transformation in Africa.” The conversation will address cybersecurity, cloud integration, workforce productivity, and procurement realities for companies implementing AI beyond experimentation.

Inclusion and Affordability in the Spotlight

The second half of the forum will widen the lens to access and infrastructure.

Daniel Kamande, Product Training Manager at itel Mobile will deliver a talk on “How Affordable Smartphones Drive Digital AI Inclusion in Kenya,” examining the role of low-cost devices in AI adoption.

Benta Kamau (CyberPro), a cybersecurity and AI governance strategist who advises African and global institutions, will present “The Human Side of AI: Building Ethical, Scalable Data for Africa.”

A second live podcast and panel session, moderated by Bob Koigi, East Africa Editor at Africa Business Communities, will explore AI, Affordability & Inclusion, featuring voices from itel, CyberPro, and local AI enthusiast, Joseph Henry Okal who’s also the founder of GlideX, a technology platform dedicated to transforming mobility through innovation and user-focused solutions.
