This is Digital Hosts AI Appreciation Breakfast and Launches AI Literacy Program in Kenya

In celebration of International Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day, This is Digital hosted a high-level AI Appreciation Breakfast at The Social House in Nairobi.

Themed “The Age of AI: A Reality Check” the event convened a select group of industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore how AI is transforming life, work, and society across the continent.

The keynote address was delivered by Moses Kemibaro, founder of Dotsavvy, who called for greater urgency in preparing Africa for the AI era.

The program featured powerful insights from leaders such as Susan Makau of the International School of Advertising, Hon. Ndindi Nyoro, MP for Kiharu Constituency, and Roseline Njogu, Principal Secretary in the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.

Speakers unpacked the impact of AI across entertainment, marketing, healthcare, and workforce development, making the conversation both timely and deeply relevant.

At the event, This is Digital also announced the official launch of its AI Literacy Program, set to begin on August 5, 2025. The program is designed to equip professionals, students, educators, and entrepreneurs with practical and ethical knowledge of artificial intelligence through a combination of online and in-person sessions.

With Kenya recently ranked 6th in Africa for AI readiness in the 2024 Oxford Insights Index, the initiative is expected to empower communities to not just adapt to AI, but lead in its development and use.
