Vivo V40 Lite Full Review: Heavy Hitter
Vivo V40 Lite Review: Vivo excels at creating beautiful yet affordable smartphones, and the V40 Lite, as their latest midrange smartphone and successor to the V30 Lite, exemplifies this commitment.
UNBOXING
The V40 Lite comes in a sleek black box with warranty and user guide, a transparent back case, a SIM ejector tool, an 80W charging brick, a Type-C cable, and a pre-installed screen protector.
DESIGN
This stylish phone features a cushion-cut diamond-shaped camera island with a dual setup and AI aura light, marking a significant upgrade from the earlier V30 Lite, which lacked this addition.
Our unit is available in Titanium Silver, which exudes a bold, premium look with its fluorite AG glass that reveals beautiful purple hues in sunlight, and a diamond starry texture, but you can also opt for yours in Emerald Green for a stylish choice.
Vivo added a useful feature that illuminates the back bezels when you receive a notification which is handy when you’re in a dark place.
The lightweight V40 Lite, at 188 grams, features an ultra-slim design, improved IP64 water and dust resistance over its predecessor, and allows for screen operation even with wet hands.
The V40 Lite has a metallic high-gloss frame, with a hybrid-dual SIM slot, microphone, Type-C charging port, and bottom speaker at the bottom, while the top houses a secondary microphone, and the right side includes volume rockers and a power button.
The V40 Lite has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits peak brightness, making it excellent for multimedia, browsing, and gaming, with good viewing angles and outdoor visibility.
The dual speaker setup with the earpiece of the V40 Lite provides 300% more volume and 360-degree music immersion. The phone also allows for up to 90% lossless sound playback.
The in-display fingerprint reader allows for quick and responsive unlocking of your phone.
PERFORMANCE
The phone features a Snapdragon 685 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 8GB of virtual RAM, and 256GB of storage, runs on Android 14 and Funtouch 14, and will receive two years of software support, including two major updates and monthly security patches.
The V40 Lite offers seamless performance and easy multitasking due to its powerful processor and sufficient RAM.
BATTERY LIFE
The 5000mAh battery supports up to 80W fast charging, lasts 4 years or 1600 cycles, charges to 45% in just 15 minutes, and typically provides a day and a half of use, even with heavy multitasking leaving around 25% to 30% remaining for late-night activities.
CAMERAS
The V40 Lite features a 32MP selfie camera, a 50MP primary camera, and a 2MP depth camera, all capable of shooting 1080p video at 30fps, while the AI auralight adjusts brightness from warm to cold with 360-degree uniform lighting, a capability previously available only in the main V40.
