Nairobi Set to Host 11th Angel Fair Africa Backed by Ghana’s Rivia

All systems are a go as Nairobi is set to host the 11th Angel Fair Africa (AFA@11) backed by support for an All-Female Investors Panel by Ghanaian healthcare tech company, Rivia.

Hosted by Chanzo Capital, Angel Fair Africa is an event that brings together accelerators, incubators, and emerging businesses across Africa with investors to create deal opportunities.

Slated for November 7-8, this year’s panel will feature prominent women leaders in the investment space, including Kanini Mutooni (Regional Managing Director at DRK Foundation), Mobola da-Silva (Partner at Capria Ventures), Amma Lartey (CEO of Impact Investing Ghana), Laura Davis (Managing Partner at Renew Capital), and Polo Leteka (Founder and CEO of IDF Capital).

According to a statement by Rivia, women are often underrepresented as both investors and entrepreneurs, with gender biases and limited access to investment networks making it harder for women-led businesses to secure funding.

Since 2016, Rivia added, Angel Fair Africa has worked to change this by empowering women to showcase their potential as both investors and investees.

“Research shows that gender-diverse companies outperform others in innovation and financial success,” the company said.

Rivia’s partnership with Angel Fair Africa underscores its commitment to promoting gender diversity and inclusion within the investment landscape and across its healthcare offerings.

This year’s event aims to bring together women investors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders to discuss how women are driving socio-economic progress across Africa.

Rivia CEO Isidore Kpotufe said women offer unique perspectives, particularly in addressing healthcare, education, and environmental challenges.

“By closing the gender gap in investment, we can accelerate progress in these key areas and enhance Africa’s socio-economic development,” he said.

Rivia’s support for this event aligns with its broader goals of fostering innovation, promoting gender equality, and driving sustainable economic growth across Africa.
