Epson EcoTank L15150 printer review
Epson EcoTank L15150 Review: Office printers have become essential tools in today’s fast-paced business world. While digitalization and technologies such as cloud computing have revolutionized the way we work, the traditional office printer still holds its significance. Epson is one of the biggest players in this field and the company has been doing well with their EcoTank line of printers launched in 2020.
We got our hands on the EcoTank L15150 A3 which we have been using at the office for about a month now. This is an all-in-one printer that’s best suited for offices that need to print on super-tabloid size paper and also print enough. As a digital media company, this printer is definitely what we need to cater for all our printing needs.
Inside the package are one set of ink (1x 127ml BK, 3x 70ml CMY), a main unit power cable, and a quick start guide user manual.
In this article I will highlight my favourite things about the printer and why it’s a good option, especially for small businesses. Key features include:
- Ultra-fast print and scan speeds Up to 25ipm1
- Ultra-low-cost per page thanks to the economical ink tank system
- Easy-to-use front ink tank lets you enjoy hassle and mess-free refills with enhanced ink bottles
- Mobile printing and connectivity Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet and free mobile printing apps4
There is so much to like about the EcoTank L15150 A3. When it comes to the design, the printer is very compact. It’s also multifactional with the capacity for high performance in both colour and white. It also features two 250-sheet front trays, a 50-sheet rear feed, and a 50-sheet A3 ADF.
The printer offers print, scan and copy capabilities at high speed – with duplex printing available for up to A3 size.
The printing quality is also impressive thanks to Epson’s PrecisionCore technology, The quality is up to 4800 dpi, with a page yield of up to 7,500 pages for black and 6,000 pages for colour with affordable inks.
This EcoTank L15150 A3 can print thousands of pages before needing more ink. It comes with two A3 paper trays which offer a capacity of 500 sheets. Epson was also generous enough to offer an extra 50-sheet rear feed and A3 ADF.
Feature-rich
Scanning and editing are also simplified with Epson ScanSmart, which converts scanned files into editable formats for a variety of different uses. This is quite an interesting feature on a printer. It allows you to perform simple document editing before printing or scanning it. You can review, rearrange and even rotate pages quickly right after scanning before saving the document as a single.
Navigating the extensive range of features on the EcoTank L15150 A3 printer is also quite easy thanks to the the 10.9cm LCD touchscreen and hard keys. Using the touch screen, you can easily select the print, scan, copy and fax options depending on the task.
I also love the fact that with Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, you can send documents to print from smart devices i.e. mobiles, tablets and laptops using the Epson iPrint4 app. Another cool feature I love about this printer is the fact that it’s Epson Connect Enabled. What this means is that I can wirelessly print my documents from anywhere in the world with Epson Connect’s wide range of features. Using a PC with Remote Print driver you can also print to a compatible Epson printer anywhere in the world via the Internet. You can also print from and scan directly to your smart device or online cloud storage services.
Other features include DURABrite ET ink that allows for water and smudge-resistance – including text, barcodes and images – this guarantees high-quality business documents.
The printer also delivers an incredibly low cost per page. Epson claims that you can save you over 50% on average in 3 years vs A3 4-in-1 ink cartridge models2 and slash ink costs by up to 90%3 thanks to its innovative design.
Testing the Epson EcoTank L15150: Quite fast
For our Epson EcoTank L15150 printer review performance tests, we connected our standard PC and the L15150 to the same network using an ethernet connection. The speeds were quite interesting and fast compared to all the printers we have used before. Being the first time we were using an Epson printer, we were impressed.
The text and graphics output is top-tier. The font came out all delivered in well-formed characters and proper spacing.
For graphics on plain paper, the L15150 offered very vibrant colours and evenly shaded gradients for most images in the test suite.
Compatibility
The printer is compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, Windows 10 (32/64 bit), Windows 7 (32/64 bit), Windows 8 (32/64 bit), Windows 8.1 (32/64 bit), Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2016, Windows Vista (32/64 bit), Windows XP Professional x64 Edition SP2 or later, Windows XP SP3 or later (32-bit), Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 SP2 or later
