2023 KUZA Awards People’s Choice category extended to online content creators
Online content creators in Kenya now have a chance to compete for the People’s Choice award at this year’s Kuza Awards hosted by the Communication Authority (CA).
The award allows, the audience to vote for their preferred broadcaster. This year though, the authority says it’s extending the category to online content creators to recognize creativity and innovation in embracing new trends and technology.
Now in its 6th edition, Kuza Awards seek to recognize and promote excellence in broadcasting in the country.
The awards aim to recognize broadcasters who stand in line with the regulatory requirements that have been set by the regulator.
The authority says it has included a two-day conference where various local and international organizations like Netflix, Meta, and Tiktok will hold trainings for participants and industry players for this year’s edition.
The Kuza awards process comprises several activities leading up to the awards gala, beginning with the launch, the people’s choice voting process, selections of winners, and awards gala.
“Broadcasting still remains a very powerful tool for influencing and shaping creativity. We invite the public to vote for their favorite TV and Radio broadcaster’’ said Ezra Chiloba, CA Director General.
The public can vote by sending the word KUZA to 15601 and follow the prompts or via the CA website. Voting is free of charge and is open till 28th August 2023.
This year, the Kuza Awards is being held under the theme “Shaping the future of broadcasting towards a creative economy.”
