Asus’ Zenbook S 13 OLED is the world’s thinnest OLED laptop

Asus has introduced the world’s thinnest OLED laptop, the Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304) featuring a 13.3-inch 2.8K (2,880 x 1,880) Lumina OLED display.

Unveiled last week, this latest edition of ASUS’s Zenbook S series packs a number of high-end performance into an incredibly small package.

As we mentioned, the 13.3-inch screen is a 16:10 ASUS Lumina OLED display with a resolution of 2.8k that is both Dolby Vision and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified. It boasts 550 nits of peak brightness and covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space with an 85 percent screen-to-body ratio.

When it comes to perfomance, the Zenbook S 13 OLED does not disappoint It packs a 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, combined with 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM for lightning-quick processing.

Other specs include Intel Iris Xe graphics, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and a 63 Wh battery. Asus claims a 49-minute fast-charge session can top the battery up to 70 percent.

There’s also a full set of I/O ports for on-the-go connections. This includes two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.1 port then finally a 3.5 mm audio jack.  The dual integrated speakers are Harman Kardon certified and support Dolby Atmos spatial audio tech. Volume can be boosted by up to 5.25x thanks to the laptops’ smart amplifier and audio boot technology.

The device is the most eco-friendly Zenbook ever made, incorporating post-industrial recycled (PIR) magnesium-aluminum alloy in the keyboard cover, chassis and lid, reducing its carbon footprint by more than 50%. The keycaps and speakers incorporate post-consumer-recycled (PCR) plastics, and the speakers also use ocean-bound plastics.

Asus says it has has redesigned the packaging to be 100% recyclable, with reusable and compostable materials. It uses 100% FSC Mix-certified paper from responsibly managed forests, controlled wood and recycled sources. The paper packing inserts can also be easily transformed into useful laptop stands.

The Asus Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304) is available to order now on Asus’ online store priced at $1,399.99. We are not sure when the company plans to make it available in Kenya.

It comes backed by a one year warranty and is offered in your choice of gray or blue.
