Xiaomi’s Redmi A1+ Android Go smartphone launched in Kenya for KES 10,499
Redmi A1+, Xiaomi’s most affordable has been launched in Kenya. The entry-level smartphone runs Android Go and joins the range of pocket-friendly Redmi smartphones launched in the Kenyan market this year.
Redmi A1+ is the second smartphone from the company running Android Go after the Redmi Go that the company launched back in 2019.
The phone will retail at the recommended retail price of KES 10,499 and will be available in 2GB+32GB storage configuration. You can buy one starting today through Xiaomi Stores, Jumia and partner stores around the country.
Redmi A1+ sports a 6.52-inch display with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels (HD+). The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset paired with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage.
It’s an Android 12 Go Edition phone and draws power from a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging.
For the optics, we’re getting an 8MP rear camera assisted by a 0.3MP depth sensor and a 5MP camera on the front.

Inheriting family design from Redmi Note Series, Redmi A1+ come in Black and Light Blue, all with a stylish flat-frame design.
