Jiji Kenya bags two awards on Safety and Classifieds Categories
Ecommerce marketplace Jiji has, for the second time in a row, bagged the best classifieds website award at the Digital Tech 100 Awards.
The startup was also crowned as the Safest Online Shopping Platform at the Transport and Logistics Excellence Awards that took place on the same day. Jiji was the only online shopping platform to receive perfect five-star scores on safety. This is the first time in 23 years of such surveys that an online shopping platform was recognized in the Transport and Logistics Excellence Awards organized by Safety Plus Ltd.
The classifieds platform has cut a niche in the Kenyan market and across the continent for its user-friendly features and security measures that make great attempts at safeguarding the interests of buyers and sellers.
The platform is free and allows buyers and sellers to connect and do business without the need for middlemen or commission cuts. Sellers enlist all kinds of products on the platform such as electronics, vehicles, property, homes, furniture and appliances, fashion, health and beauty, etc.
Grace Gikonyo, Head of Public Relations, said, “Jiji Kenya has indeed won the hearts of Kenyans, and we are humbled by the immense support we are receiving from our buyers and sellers. We are delighted to receive two awards on the same day. It’s a great acknowledgement of our collaborative efforts to deliver a great online experience for our buyers and sellers.”
The wins recorded by jiji signal continued confidence in online platforms by across the continent. The sector has recorded remarkable growth with creative platforms solving various consumer challenges.
