Samsung’s next foldables to launch on August 10th

It’s that time of the year when we expect Samsung to host its next major ‘’Unpacked’’ launch event.

Samsung has not shared much about this event but we can confirm the event will be held on August 10th according to a promotional image leaked by Evan Blass. The image shows the date with a blurred image of the yet-to-be-revealed foldable. Samsung has also confirmed this launch date.

With the NOTE series now dead, we expect Samsung to unveil new foldables to succeed the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3. Going by the numbering system Samsung uses, we will be getting the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4, along with Galaxy Watch 5.

We also expect Samsung to unveil a new generation of Samsung Watches consisting of the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

Ahead of Unpacked, Samsung says the  Galaxy foldables are now mainstream. Samsung mobile president TM Roh took in an article published on the company’s official blog noted that last year, Samsung saw almost 10 million foldable smartphones shipped worldwide. ‘’That’s an industry increase of more than 300% from 2020, and I predict this fast-paced growth will continue,’’ he said.

‘’We are reaching the moment where these foldable devices are becoming widespread and staking a bigger claim in the overall smartphone market,’’ he added.

‘’At our upcoming Unpacked on August 10th, you’ll see that the impact of our innovation is not only about what technology can do. It’s about what you can do. We’ve once again taken our inspiration from the most important source — Galaxy users — to push the limits of what’s possible.’’ he says.

Last year we reported that Samsung will produce at least 10 million Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 4 units this year. According to a report from TheElec Production of the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 was to be 2.9 million and 6.9 million, respectively, the report says.
