Tribit XSound Go Review: I have a number of Bluetooth speakers all over my house, some of which have been sent over by brands as gifts and others that I have actually spent money on. So when the good people at Essential Accessories offered to send me the Tribit XSound Go, I thought, why not.
I mean I love Bluetooth speakers. They have been designed to offer the utmost convenience to users like me. These portable speakers fit into any space comfortably, they are small in size, but the output is pretty good. You can easily carry them along when you go camping, gym, etc. without the need to attach any wires. All you need to do is have some music on your phone or play it from your favorite music streaming platform and connect it with the Bluetooth speakers anywhere and enjoy your music in full swing.
One of these speakers is the Tribit XSound Go that has been my companion for a couple of weeks now. I have used it at home and even taken it for a few trips outside Nairobi.
For just Ksh.5,000, Tribit XSound Go is a budget Bluetooth speaker that deserves your attention. You might not have heard about Tribit but the company makes some pretty interesting Bluetooth speakers including the Tribit XSound Go, Tribit Flybuds C1, among others.
If you are on the lookout for a Bluetooth speaker with a budget of Ksh.5,000, then the Tribit XSound Go is the speaker you should consider. Here is why.
Design and Build
The Tribit XSound Go is a pill-shaped speaker that would fit anywhere or even easily thrown in your bag without worry. This design is basically a common design we have seen with a number of Bluetooth speakers.
On the front of the speaker, there is a grille with the Tribit logo splashed on top. At the top is where you have the speaker controls with the power buttons, Bluetooth pairing, media playback, and also volume controls. The buttons are standard and big so you won’t really struggle using them. Tribit also added a chord lanyard to help you slip the speaker over your wrist when holding it – important so that it doesn’t easily fall down.
At the back, there’s a rubber plug covering the USB-C charging port and a 3.5mm aux-in port for wired listening.
The Tribit XSound Go is also IPX7 rated offering protection for complete submersion to a depth of 1m of up to 30 minutes. This is one of the things we really loved about the speaker.
The review unit we had is black, but the Tribit XSound Go is also available in a blue finish which looks pretty good.
Performance
For Ksh.5,000 you’re basically getting what you’re paying for. It has the best sound quality in its price range. The Tribit XSound Go might not be a top performer but everything about the sound, from bass power to clarity to dynamic range, sounds pretty good. There is less distortion at maximum volume with this speaker.
I need to mention the bass is really good for a speaker of its size but of course, don’t expect it to shake your room or table.
One other impressive feature of the XSound Go is the battery life which is rated at 24 hours of playtime at medium volume. We got around 19 hours of playtime, which is pretty good for a speaker of this size.
The battery also takes longer to charge so make sure you plug in early enough to charge before stepping out with it.
Conclusion
Should you really get the Tribit XSound Go as your portable Bluetooth speaker of choice? The answer is yes, it doesn’t disappoint at its price.
