Infinix NOTE 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy A32: Which One Should You Buy?

We have been with the Infinix NOTE 10 Pro for quite some time. Infinix Mobile officially unveiled this device close to a month ago and in the review article we did, we highlighted how the NOTE series has been my favorite series from Infinix.

With the NOTE 10 Pro, Infinix decided to go big. For example, the phone features a massive 6.95-inch display, one of the biggest displays I have seen on a smartphone. The big body also packs in a huge 5,000mAh battery and we are also getting a not so bad processor.

Infinix is selling this device for Ksh.26,000 at this price and the specs, it’s competing with a number of devices in its segment including the Samsung Galaxy A32 that Samsung is selling at Ksh. 28,000.

In this article, we will be doing a comparison between the two devices. Which device would you choose if you’re shopping for a phone in that price segment? This article might help you make that decision.  You can also watch our Infinix NOTE 10 Pro unboxing video here in case you missed it.

Design and Display.

As I mentioned at the beginning of this article Infinix decided to go big with the Infinix NOTE 10 Pro. The device is huge, featuring a massive 6.95-inch display with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. The Galaxy A32 on the other hand comes with a 6.50-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, at a pixel density of 411 ppi.

Both phones also feature a 90Hz refresh rate making them smooth to use. Probably one of the star attractions on both these devices. The colours are decent, you get enough brightness even when outdoors and interacting with content on the screen is quite smooth.

For the design, both companies did a pretty good job. The Infinix NOTE 10 Pro looks pretty good and even won an IF Design Award for 2021. At the top center of the screen, there’s a big camera hole that houses the selfie camera. The frame is made of plastic  and the back features a quad-camera setup located at the top left corner. The comeras consist of a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera also capable of macros, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel black -and-white camera. The selfie camera is a 16-megapixel shooter.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 on the other hand has five cameras at the back – a 64-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture; a 5-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera is a 20-megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

Internals and battery life

This is one area that should really make you decide on which phone to buy between the two. I have used both devices and there is so much to say about here. We are also getting some 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. For the software, the smartphone runs XOS 7.6 on top of Android 11. It comes with a number of preinstalled apps and a few of Infinix’s own apps like Palm Store which is an alternative to the Google Play Store among others.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 is based on Android 11 and packs 128GB of inbuilt storage that can be expanded up 1000GB via microSD card. It features a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset paired with some 6GB of memory. We love the ONE UI on this device, the interface looks pretty good and unique.

Not sure why Samsung decided to go with the Helio G80 chipset on the Galaxy A32 though. Not that it’s bad, well,  there is a slowdown in performance with larger and graphics-heavy apps, especially. Samsung should have considered the MediaTek Helio G95 that we have on the Infinix NOTE 10 Pro. From photography, to simple gaming, socials, everything on the Infinix NOTE 10 Pro runs just smooth.  Apps launched quickly, multitasking was easy and switching between multiple apps was also very easy.

For the battery, the Infinix NOTE 10 Pro packs a 5,000mAh battery which does a pretty decent job.  In the box, Infinix added a 33W charger. This is also the same battery size we’re getting on the Galaxy A32 although it has a 15W charging which is well, not exactly fast.  By far the battery is the most impressive feature we have seen on both devices. Under moderate or normal use, the phones should be able to last you for more than a day.

Cameras

The Infinix NOTE 10 Pro comes with a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera also capable of macros, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel black-and-white camera.

Both phones take some good shots although I have a problem with the wide-angle camera on the Galaxy A32. There’s a lot of distortion and noise. The selfie camera is pretty good though. For the Infinix device, the shots are pretty decent, and this is something we really emphasized in our podcast about this phone. If you missed it you can listen to it here.  The shots have good details, especially during daytime. Ultra-wide-angle photos also looked pretty good although not like those taken with the primary sensor.

Ok, this is a tough choice to make considering the difference in pricing is Ksh. 2,000. Both devices basically offer everything anyone is looking for for a phone in that price segment.

The NOTE 10 Pro is a good device from Infinix, the best Infinix NOTE the company has ever made. While the huge size might not appeal to everyone, Infinix got everything right with this device – Good performance, design, and some really good cameras.

The Galaxy A32 is also quite a decent device. The CPU and GPU used here might not be the best but the phone gets the basics done. The phone also wins when it comes to the UI compared to the Camon 17 Pro.

Infinix is selling the NOTE 10 Pro for Ksh.26,000 while the Samsung Galaxy A32 is selling at Ksh. 28,000.
