Airtel Africa appoints Olusegun Ogunsanya new CEO
Olusegun Ogunsanya is also the current MD and CEO of Airtel Nigeria
- Airtel Africa has appointed Olusegun Ogunsanya, the current MD and CEO of Airtel Nigeria, as its new CEO.
- He will replace Raghunath Mandava, the group's former CEO who has recently retired.
- Ogunsanya will join Airtel Africa’s board come October 1, 2021
Airtel Africa, the African arm of India’s Bharti Airtel, has a new CEO. The telecommunications company will now be lead by Olusegun Ogunsanya, the current MD and CEO of Airtel Nigeria.
The appointment follows the retirement of Raghunath Mandava, the company’s former CEO. Ogunsanya joined Airtel Africa in 2012 and has retained his MD role throughout his nine-year tenure. He was also leading Airtel Nigeria, the company’s largest African market, from the get-go.
Ogunsanya has held management roles for quite some time thus trusted to lead the group. Before joining Airtel Africa, he was an MD and CEO at Coca-cola in Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya. He has also held similar roles at Nigeria Bottling Company and Ecobank across 28 countries.
With his appointment, Ogunsanya will join Airtel Africa’s board come October 1, 2021.
