TECNO Spark 7P Announced with a 6.8″ 90Hz Display and Triple Cameras

TECNO Mobile has unveiled a new smartphone, TECNO Spark 7P. TECNO Spark 7P targets Gen Z with its sizeable high refreshing display and a triple camera setup.

The Chinese smartphone company has also refreshed the design from the preceding Spark 6. Instead of a circular camera array, TECNO Spark 7P has a more familiar rectangular bump with cameras arranged vertically on the left.

The hole punch notch is gone too. Spark 7P includes a less appealing waterdrop notch.

Spark 7P features a 6.8-inch display refreshing at higher 90Hz, a first for the company’s budget Spark series.

TECNO Spark 7P will, of course, bring the 90Hz display refresh rate to a more accessible price point for those on a shoestring budget.

This phone has a triple camera setup lead by a 16MP camera. Helio G70 chipset powers the phone, which should give the new device a performance boost over the predecessor.

In the storage department, the phone has two options available: 64GB and 128GB. The memory is fixed at 4GB. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery, similar to what we saw in the Spark 6.

Spark 7P was launched today in China and is set to be available in global markets soon.

First Smartphone in 2021

TECNO has yet to refresh its various lines of smartphones in 2021. TECNO Spark 7P will, therefore, be the first for the company this year. We shall update more details about the phone, including the price, when the phone is availed in Kenya.

It’s also good to point out that TECNO hasn’t launched a phone in Kenya in the Spark Series with such a twisted alphanumeric naming convention. The last phone in the Spark series was the Spark 6; before that was Spark 5 and Spark 5 Pro. So this might simply be sold as the Spark 7 or Spark 7 Pro locally. The latter is more likely, however, due to the 90Hz refresh rate.
