Twitter Working on Newsletter Integration after Revue Acquisition

Twitter acquired Revue, a paid newsletter platform, earlier this week at an unspecified amount to expand its Ad-dependent business.

The social media giant said Revue acquisition is part of its plan to help writers, journalists, and publishers connect easily with their following.

Additionally, it said it will help them become discovered easily on the platform.

Twitter’s way of enabling easy discovery of writers and journalists is by adding a Newsletter tab right inside the menu tab on the web.

Spotted by App sleuth Jane Wong, Twitter plans to integrate Revue on its main platform, and this option will be available in the menu inside the web app.

Twitter said it would integrate Revue within its social media platform and, at the same time, run the newsletter platform independently.

“Revue will accelerate our work to help people stay informed about their interests while giving all types of writers a way to monetize their audience – whether it’s through the one, they built at a publication, their website, on Twitter, or elsewhere,” the company said.

The company also slashed the commission Revue collected from paid subscriptions and reduced the entry barrier by opening up Revue’s Pro features to everyone.
