HMD Global Revives two Classic Nokia Phones: Nokia 6300 4G and Nokia 8000 4G

Now with essential apps WhatsApp, YouTube, and Facebook and 4G connectivity


HMD Global is back with two revived Nokia classics. Joining the company’s feature phone family, Nokia 6300 4G and the Nokia 8000 4G keep the classics’ design language but bring modern technology along.

Both phones are running KaiOS, the smart feature operating system that allows app installation and comes with must-have apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube, and Google Maps. They also have 4G connectivity.

Nokia 6300 4G draws inspirations from the original Nokia 6300 4G. According to the company, it will be their cheapest phone yet with WhatsApp.

The phone’s spec sheet includes Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 210 processor, 2.4-inch LCD with 320 x 240p resolution, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, a micro USB port, Dual or single nano-SIM slots, 1500 mAh removable battery, and a rear VGA camera.

The internal storage can be expanded up to 32 GB with the included microSD card slot. You can create a mobile hotspot using the phone, and it has Bluetooth and a GPS sensor.

HMD claims the 4G Nokia 6300 can offer up to 25 days in standby time. Nokia 6300 5G is priced at €49, around Ksh 6300.

Nokia 8000 4G

It features a more refined design and has a slightly bigger 2.8-inch display. It’s powered by an identical Qualcomm processor aided by 512MB RAM. Except for the exterior and 2 MP rear camera, Nokia 8000 4G is similar to the 4G Nokia 6300.

It costs a little bit more, starting at €79 ~ Ksh 10,000.

Nokia 8000 4G features Opal White, Onyx Black, Topaz Blue, and Citrine Gold colors. Nokia 6300 4G will be selling in Light Charcoal, White, and Cyan Green colors.

HMD Global has revived several classic phones including Nokia 8110, Nokia 220 4G, Nokia 110, Nokia 215 4G, and more.
