Huawei Y7a Officially Announced with 6.67” Display and 5,000mAh battery

Huawei Y7a is coming

Huawei has announced several phones under the Y series in Kenya this year. The latest in the series, Huawei Y9a, started selling in Kenya barely a month ago priced at Ksh 30,999.

However, the company has also unveiled the Y7a recently, which we expect will be coming to Kenya in the future. The Huawei Y7a isn’t as pricey as the Y9a. It was announced in Asia, going for about Ksh 20,000.

Huawei Y7a boasts a 6.67″ FHD+ LCD panel, the company’s in-house Kirin 710A SoC, 4GB of memory, either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, and EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 on the software front.

In case you’re still concerned about Google apps, it also doesn’t ship with those after what happened last year. Instead, you get GMS-Esque Huawei App Gallery.

Anyway, Huawei Y7a has a quad-camera module on the back and a single selfie camera. The rear camera setup is headlined by a 48MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front is an 8MP camera placed in a center-placed hole punch at the top.

It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint reader, a microSD card slot(up to 512GB), a headphone jack, a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W wired fast charging, and a USB Type C port. The phone will be selling in three colors: Midnight Black, Crush Green, and Blush Gold.

To be clear, Huawei has not yet announced when the Y7a will come to the Kenyan market.
