Windows 10 Now Supports Wireless File Transfers To And From Samsung Phones

In a not so surprising move, Microsoft now supports wireless file transfer between some Samsung Galaxy devices and Windows 10 powered PCs. The new functionality is part of an early version of Windows 10 insider build for those on the fast lane of Windows updates.

According to reports, this transfer is done via WIFI and is made easy with a drag and drop functionality. Limits do exist, however. For instance, you can only transfer files with up to 512MB in size. More so, you can not be able to transfer over 100 files at a go.

Another restraint is that your phone and PC must be connected to the same WIFI. Plus, for your Samsung device to be able to perform this, Samsung’s Link to Windows 1.5, or higher, is a must and that rules out some Samsung Galaxy phones.

This is yet another additional functionality brewed by what has been a handy partnership between Microsoft and Samsung. Each time the two try to bridge the gap between mobile devices and Microsoft’s ubiquitous Operating system.

Currently, Samsung Galaxy Note and S series device users can be able to perform several actions on Windows 10 like keeping up with their notification as well as answering phone calls.

Recently, in March, Microsoft introduced a copy and paste functionality from Windows to select Samsung devices. This setting can be accessed via Windows 10 Your Phone app>Settings > Cross-device copy and paste. For this new feature, it’s not yet clear when it will be available to the general public.
