Apple Says It Has 1.5 Billion Active Devices Globally

In a report released by the trillion-dollar valuated American tech giant, Apple now says that it has over 1.5 Billion active devices around the world. The new figures were revealed by the company while announcing financial results for its fiscal 2020 first quarter ended December 28, 2019.

“We see this as a powerful testament to the satisfaction, engagement and loyalty of our customers — and a great driver of our growth across the board.”, said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO.

Compared to 2019, the company reported having a total of 1.4 Billion active devices globally. By devices, this includes all of Apple’s portfolio of hardware, including the iPhone‌, iPod touch, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Watch.

Quarterly Earnings

Apple said it made $91.8 billion in revenue in the quarter under review. This represents a 9 percent year-over-year increase and is the company’s highest quarterly revenue ever.

Apple’s CEO Tim Cook said the company’s impressive results in the quarter were due to strong sales of the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro models. He also said the company’s Services and Wearables category hit an all-time record.

Luca Maestri, Apple’s CFO, said the company saw an all-time net income record $22.2 billion. The company also generated an operating cash flow of $30.5 billion.
